Scientists measure Einstein's gravity in the quantum realm

An international research team has for the first time measured the phase shift of a matter wave of a falling atom relative to a stationary wave. The result matches predictions of Einstein's equivalence principle applied to a quantum object. It is a landmark confirmation that gravity as described by Einstein also works at the quantum scale.
