Nawrocki's vetoes could cost budget billions and lower Poland's rating

The government plans to raise CIT taxes, excise duties on cigarettes and alcohol, and VAT on energy drinks, but President Karol Nawrocki may veto these changes. Blocking the tax increases will complicate public finance consolidation and increase the risk of Poland's credit rating being downgraded by rating agencies. The state budget remains uncertain as it awaits the head of state's decision.
