Drunk cyclist hits 4-year-old in Sopot, carrying mephedrone

On Saturday, September 5, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Plac Zdrojowy in Sopot, a 37-year-old Georgian national struck a 4-year-old boy with his bicycle while the child walked with his mother. The child sustained minor facial injuries and did not require hospitalization. Testing showed approximately 0.5 per mille blood alcohol in the cyclist's system; he was also riding in a bicycle-restricted zone. Police issued him fines totaling 9,000 zloty, and officers found mephedrone on him during a search—the man was detained.
