New Vargas Llosa biography portrays Nobel laureate as "selfish and vile"

Gerald Martin's recently published biography "Mario Vargas Llosa: A Life" casts Peru's Nobel Prize-winning author, who died in April 2025, in a critical light. The writer's first wife called him "a selfish and vile man," accusing him of lies, deception and disloyalty. The biographer also does not shy away from Llosa's controversial political choices.
