Over 300 killed in Yemen as Houthis attack near strategic strait

More than 300 people have been killed in recent fighting between Yemeni government forces and Iran-backed Houthi rebels in southwestern Yemen, according to AFP. The rebels are mounting an offensive toward the strategic Bab el-Mandab Strait, through which a significant portion of global maritime trade flows. The strait is critical to international shipping routes.
