AfD one seat short of outright majority in Saxony-Anhalt
According to ZDF exit polling, AfD achieved a result in the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament allowing it to nearly govern alone — the party lacks one seat for an absolute majority. Party leader Ulrich Siegmund declared a "historic" election result. This is an unprecedented outcome for the far-right party in postwar Germany.
