Veterans feel forgotten despite commemorations in Warsaw
On the 87th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, commemorations of the Day of Veterans of the Struggle for Independence were held at Piłsudski Square in Warsaw. Before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, veterans were awarded the highest military decorations. Despite organizers' assurances about remembrance and gratitude, the veterans themselves expressed bitter feelings — saying they feel forgotten by the state.
