US Marines to replace manual body armor checks with 3D scans
The United States Marine Corps plans to purchase advanced 3D scanners based on computed tomography to inspect the technical condition of bulletproof vests. The automated system is to detect microcracks and delamination in hard ballistic plates much more effectively than current manual methods.
