Historian Roger Moorhouse: Berlin Jews didn't believe the state wanted to kill them
British historian Roger Moorhouse, author of "The Capital of the Third Reich," says many Berlin Jews were unable to believe that the Nazi state aimed at their destruction. Bombing reached Berlin in autumn 1943, and many residents understood Germany would lose the war only when Soviets reached their doorsteps.
