Does the NFL do enough to protect players from head injuries?
A study found that at least 25% of recently deceased NFL players had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head trauma. The findings do not mean 25% of current NFL players have CTE, but they strengthen evidence of serious long-term consequences of head injuries. The league has long grappled with whether its safety rules are adequate.
