Sweden burns more Polish waste: import up 189 percent

Swedish waste-to-energy plants are importing growing amounts of waste from Poland, Britain, and Italy to produce cheap heat energy, reports Dagens Nyheter. Between 2010 and, total waste imports to Sweden rose 189 percent, from 1.34 million tons to 3.86 million tons annually.
