Liverpool searches for sporting director after Richard Hughes departs
Liverpool confirmed Richard Hughes' resignation as sporting director. The 47-year-old will take a similar role at Saudi Al-Hilal. Hughes informed the club of his intent to leave early this year, after his friend Michael Edwards departed as director of football at Fenway Sports Group. FSG president Mike Gordon is leading the search — Liverpool is now seeking its fourth sporting director in four years.
