UN adopts world map showing Africa's true size

The UN General Assembly voted to adopt a world map that more accurately represents the true size of continents than the traditional Mercator projection. The new map shows Africa as significantly larger and Western countries, including the USA, as smaller than on the maps commonly used until now. The only country that voted against was the United States.
