Culture ministry loses court battle over Wyspiański pastel
A court rejected the Culture Ministry's attempt to seize Stanisław Wyspiański pastels — a portrait of Irena and Ludwik Solski — for the state treasury. The artwork's owner disclosed that the work was incorrectly listed in a database of lost works. The ministry failed to establish legal grounds for registering the painting and seizing it.
