European countries repatriate gold from North America

The Netherlands transported back to the country 86 tonnes of gold that had been stored in North America. Similar moves are happening in many European countries, which for safety reasons are deciding to keep gold reserves closer to home. Experts point to growing geopolitical uncertainty and a desire to become independent from financial institutions across the ocean as the main reasons for these decisions.
