Polymer nanogel reverses dementia symptoms in mice without altering DNA
American researchers have developed a polymer nanogel capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier and reprogramming glial cells into functional neurons. In tests on mice, the therapy successfully reversed cognitive deficits associated with dementia. Crucially, the method requires no genetic modification of the patient.
