UN warns current El Niño could be the strongest on record in 40 years

The United Nations has warned that the current El Niño could become the strongest since records began 40 years ago. The UN says the phenomenon is being "supersized" by exceptionally warm temperatures in the tropical Pacific Ocean. A more powerful El Niño typically brings more extreme weather worldwide, including droughts, floods and temperature anomalies.
