UK post-war sugar rationing linked to lower dementia and cancer risk
Scientists studied the long-term health outcomes of people born during the UK's post-war sugar rationing period, which ended in September 1953. Those born under rationing showed a lower risk of developing dementia and cancer compared to those born just after rationing ended. The findings suggest that reduced sugar intake early in life may have lasting health benefits.
