Banks can freeze your account without consent — when and for how long?
Polish banks are legally entitled to block a client's account or part of it without prior warning. The freeze can cover just the payment card or online banking, or the entire account, and may last from a few hours to 72 hours or several months — for example, until enforcement proceedings conclude. Filing a complaint with the bank is the first step, but in some cases external authorities must be involved.
