Fico defends Russia and attacks Ukraine at Slovak National Uprising anniversary

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, speaking at ceremonies in Banská Bystrica marking the 82nd anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising, called EU support for Ukraine a "huge strategic mistake." He criticised a law signed by Zelensky on a National Pantheon, invoking Polish victims of Ukrainian nationalists during World War II. He also argued that Russia must not be demonised or pushed out of Europe.
