Experimental eye drops restore light perception in blind mice
Scientists have developed light-activated drugs that helped blind mice perceive light again and restored visually guided behaviour. Crucially, two of the most promising compounds worked when applied as simple eye drops, without gene therapy, implants or specialised lighting. The findings point toward a potentially straightforward approach to restoring vision in humans.
