Boards put HR to the test: admin and recruitment are no longer enough

Major companies are cutting HR headcount, but the function itself is not disappearing — boardroom expectations are simply shifting. HR departments are now expected to drive business decisions, boost productivity and develop workforce skills. Routine administration and recruitment alone are no longer sufficient to justify their existence.
