FDA approves landmark pancreatic cancer drug that blocks tumour-fuelling protein

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a groundbreaking new drug for pancreatic cancer that works by blocking a protein fuelling tumour growth in the vast majority of cases. The treatment represents a novel therapeutic approach with the potential to improve survival rates for patients with one of the most lethal forms of cancer. Pancreatic cancer has an extremely poor prognosis, with most patients not surviving five years after diagnosis.
