The US Food and Drug Administration has approved the first-in-class targeted therapy for metastatic pancreatic cancer. The decision is a landmark for patients suffering from one of the hardest-to-treat cancer types. Metastatic pancreatic cancer carries an extremely poor prognosis, and until now no targeted treatment options were available for it.
