Father left 7-year-old alone on Mount Fuji and continued climbing — police intervened
A man left his seven-year-old son alone on a bench at a mountain hut on Japan's Mount Fuji and continued his ascent. The boy sat unattended for around three hours; without the intervention of hut staff and police, he would have remained there for at least another seven and a half hours. The father admitted he had made a "hasty decision" and said he "deeply regrets" it, according to Japan Today.
