Greek Ithaca hopes Nolan's Odyssey film will put it on the tourist map
Ithaca, the legendary island home of Homer's Ulysses, is banking on a tourism boost from Christopher Nolan's upcoming film The Odyssey, which has drawn fresh attention to the largely undiscovered Greek island. Unlike the overcrowded Santorini and Mykonos — which now cap cruise arrivals and charge entry fees — Ithaca is actively welcoming new visitors. Local officials hope the Hollywood production will put the island firmly on the tourist map.
