Gut bacterium Roseburia inulinivorans boosts muscle strength by 30%

Scientists have linked the gut bacterium Roseburia inulinivorans to significantly stronger muscles in both humans and mice. Older adults carrying it had 29% greater handgrip strength, while treated mice gained about 30% more grip strength and developed larger, fast-twitch muscle fibers. The bacterium becomes less common with age, making it a potential probiotic candidate against age-related muscle loss.
