2.8 million Poles must renew their ID card in 2026

Around 2.8 million Polish citizens will be required to renew their national ID card in 2026 when their current documents expire. An invalid ID can complicate dealings with public offices and in some cases restrict access to banking services. Applications for a new card can be submitted at local municipal offices, and authorities advise doing so well in advance.
