Men with heart disease face significantly higher cancer risk and death rates, study finds

A decade-long study has found a stark gender difference in cancer outcomes for people with heart disease, with men facing a significantly higher risk of developing and dying from cancer compared to women. The key drivers behind male cases were identified as smoking, obesity and excessive alcohol consumption. The link was most pronounced for lung and oesophageal cancers.
