Bill to scrap Ziobro's "muzzle law" — judges exempt from penalties for questioning neo-judges

Judge Waldemar Żurek has submitted a bill to abolish the so-called "muzzle law" introduced under PiS by Zbigniew Ziobro. The proposed law would shield judges from disciplinary penalties for questioning the status of neo-judges or illegally-constituted Supreme Court chambers. The bill also envisages reform of disciplinary courts, curtailing the powers of the Professional Responsibility Chamber and giving judges — rather than the justice minister — the power to elect disciplinary spokespeople.
