New species of blind, blue cave fish discovered beneath US military base in Alabama

Scientists have discovered an entirely new genus of cave fish in Bobcat Cave, located beneath the heavily guarded Redstone Arsenal military base in northern Alabama. The creature has no eyes, lacks pigment, and displays a striking blue hue while alive. The find, published in Scientific Reports, is remarkable given that the cave system had been studied for over 30 years.
