Arctic and Siberia hit record heat: July temperatures far above normal
In July, temperatures across large parts of the Arctic and Siberia, north of the 60th parallel, were recorded well above long-term averages. Residents of regions traditionally associated with cold are now experiencing tropical-like heat. The anomaly is part of a broader global pattern of extreme temperature records being broken.
