Golden algae strikes Gliwice Canal — 157 kg of dead fish removed

Around 157 kg of dead fish were removed from section VI of the Gliwice Canal on Sunday due to the presence of toxic golden algae. Authorities had earlier blocked water flow in sections V and VI to limit the risk of the bloom spreading further. The incident is the latest mass fish kill in Polish waters linked to the organism.
