Teacher bought amber with rare insect — one of only 8 such specimens worldwide

A Kraków-based researcher is studying a remarkable piece of amber containing a rare, long-extinct insect species — acquired after a teacher bought it at a market stall. The specimen is one of only eight known examples worldwide. Closely related species of the insect still exist today.
