15 August is a public holiday — employers must give a day off or face fines up to 60,000 PLN

August 15th — the Feast of the Assumption of Mary (Matki Boskiej Zielnej) — is a statutory public holiday in Poland. Employers who fail to grant employees the day off risk a fine of up to 60,000 PLN from the National Labour Inspectorate, which has issued a reminder ahead of the date.
