Employers must give a day off for August 15 holiday or face fines up to PLN 60,000

Poland's National Labour Inspectorate warns that employers must grant workers a day off to compensate for the August 15 public holiday falling on a Saturday. Failure to do so constitutes a misdemeanour punishable by a fine of between PLN 2,000 and PLN 60,000. The compensatory day off must be scheduled at another date agreed with the employee.
