Exceptionally low temperatures for midsummer were recorded in southern Poland, with the Orawa-Nowy Targ valley — known as the country's "cold pole" — dipping below 0°C and approaching -6°C. The cool air mass affecting Poland is most noticeable at night and in the early morning hours.
