Proteins in rattlesnake blood may protect against lethal venom doses
Researchers have found that a mixture of proteins in rattlesnake blood can prevent death in mice injected with an otherwise lethal dose of venom, according to a study published in Nature. The natural anti-venom mechanism in the snakes' own blood could pave the way for new treatments for snakebite in humans.
