Physicists confirm 'glueball' — a particle made entirely of force-carrying gluons

Physicists say they have detected the long-predicted "glueball," a particle composed entirely of gluons — the carriers of the strong nuclear force. The existence of such a particle had been theorised for decades, but experimentally confirming it proved extremely challenging. The findings were published in the journal Nature.
