Sydney unveils Town Hall plaza design after 40 years of planning
The City of Sydney has released renders of a new 4,500-square-metre public plaza to be built opposite Town Hall, more than 40 years after the project was first conceived. Seven buildings must be demolished; negotiations with the owner of the last one are being finalised. Lord Mayor Clover Moore called the future square "fantastic", while a business advocate warned the demolition scale presents "unwanted disruption".
