FDA rejects ITM-11 radiopharmaceutical cancer therapy over manufacturing issues
The FDA has rejected ITM Isotope Technologies Munich's radiopharmaceutical drug ITM-11 due to manufacturing issues, halting a potential rival to an existing Novartis treatment. The therapy targeted gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs), a rare cancer of the pancreas and gastrointestinal system. In trials, patients on ITM-11 had a median progression-free survival of 23.9 months, compared to 14.1 months on everolimus.
