ZUS and employers crack down on sick-leave Friday/Monday "bridging"

The increasingly common practice of taking sick leave on Fridays or Mondays to extend weekends has drawn a formal response from ZUS and employers. Both are now tightening checks on such single-day sick notes, which can result in denial of sick pay or even disciplinary dismissal.
