Wine linked to 21% lower cardiovascular death risk; beer and spirits are not

A study tracking more than 340,000 adults for over a decade found that moderate wine drinkers had a 21% lower risk of cardiovascular death compared with rare or non-drinkers. Beer, cider, and spirits at low consumption levels were linked to higher mortality. Heavy drinking increased the risk of death regardless of beverage type.
