Olbrychski blocked from Gdynia festival jury — PM's office intervention reversed the ban
Actor Daniel Olbrychski revealed he was initially denied approval by the Ministry of Culture to serve on the jury of the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. He said the refusal stemmed from his 2024 criticism of former culture minister Hanna Wróblewska, whom he called "a disgrace to Polish culture and to this coalition." The block was lifted after intervention by the Prime Minister's Chancellery. Olbrychski likened the experience to "the darkest times of totalitarian systems."
