Baltic tunnel plan: Warsaw to Helsinki in 6 hours via 100-km undersea rail link

A 100-kilometre undersea railway tunnel beneath the Gulf of Finland would connect Tallinn and Helsinki, potentially cutting travel time from Warsaw to Helsinki to six hours. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna called the project the "missing link" between the two countries' transport networks. The idea has been discussed since the 1990s, with the most intensive planning carried out in 2017–2019 under the FinEst Link project.
