Science Minister: PiS starved science for 8 years, R&D spending still below 3% of GDP

Science Minister Marcin Kulasek explained on WP's "Tłit" programme that R&D spending has not yet reached the 3% of GDP target because the previous PiS government deliberately froze science funding for eight years. Kulasek argued that academics were viewed by PiS as a voter group hostile to the party. The Left is now considering redirecting some defence funding towards science.
