Polish minister defends support benefit law after teen's death, admits changes needed
Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk addressed the case of a teenage cancer patient who died before a commission awarded her the support benefit she had applied for. She assured viewers on TVN24 that the government will work to shorten waiting times for decisions, and described the law introduced at the end of the PiS government's term as "sound" but in need of amendment. She also pointed to steps already taken to improve the system.
