Tourists heading to the Tatra Mountains typically set off around 10–11am, causing queues and crowds on popular trails. Qualified mountain guide Klaudia Tasz warns that long mountain routes require a much earlier start. Setting off late is not just uncomfortable — in the mountains, risks increase as the day progresses.
