Nepal to require proven high-altitude experience before Everest permit

Nepal's parliament is working on a new tourism law that would permanently change the rules for climbing Mount Everest. Under the proposed legislation, every applicant would need to demonstrate high-altitude experience gained in Nepal before receiving a summit permit. Money and ambition alone would no longer be enough.
