Scientists find how obesity may trigger Alzheimer's disease

Researchers have identified a possible biological pathway linking obesity to Alzheimer's disease: obesity raises levels of certain fat molecules that can travel to the brain, disrupt its immune defences and promote harmful amyloid buildup. Correcting this fat imbalance improved memory and brain function in Alzheimer's disease models. The finding could open new avenues for treatment.
